Flea Markets in Berlin

Flea Market at Mauerpark

Between Wedding and Prenzlauer Berg on the former death strip of the Berlin Wall the Mauerpark is located. Today this bygone dangerous area is every sunday full of pulsating live: It's the time of the biggest flea market in Berlin.
Closely packed the flea market stalls stand next to the other, there are Berlin guys who offer their emtied wardrobes, hip young up-and-coming designers who try to set new trends and hip hipsters who look for these and the smell of grilling sausage, falafel and beer hangs in the air. And if you're not totally inside of the flea market, you can hear another attraction: the Mauerpark Karaokewhich is worth paying a vistit, even if you don't need to relax from the heating bodies around you: As in an amphitheatre you sit on stone steps around a person, who tries to exhibit his talent (or not).
– the biggest flea market of Berlin is a festival.

Time: every sunday from 8 am to 6 pm
Bernauer Str. 63-64
13355 Berlin Prenzlauer Berg

Flea Markets in Friedrichshain

A few years ago Prenzlauer Berg has been the area for nightlife as well as Kreuzberg. But then the rents increased and neighboors, who complained because of the noise, let young people and some famous clubs left this area. Therefore in Friedrichshain the nightlife is booming like never before, especially at Boxhagener Platz and Revaler Str – and as a matter of course they also got their own flea markets:

As opposed to the Prenzlauer Berg festival you're doing relaxed your rounds at the flea market Boxhagener Platz: Between the flea market stalls you're walking circular around a playground and a meadow; to see all the stuff you often have to take two rounds – there are also quiet a lot visitors.
The people are young and there are less professionell hawkers than in Mauerpark, but the flea market is also not as big as in Prenzlauer Berg. But it's much more relaxed und located direclty in the middle of Friedrichshain, so afterwards you can check out all of the cafes and bars.

And there's also another flea market not far away: The flea market in the Cassiopeia area at Revaler Str. This one is also small, very alternative and got mainly privat hawkers.

Time: Every sunday from 10 am to 4 pm
Boxhagener Platz and Revaler Str. 99
10245 Berlin Friedrichshain

Night Flea Market in Kreuzberg

But who likes to stay at sunday in bed or isn't yet out of the club (or back inside again), can go to the night flea market at So36 every second wednesday a month. Here you can dawdle around with live music, it's also very alternative and the club entry is free this night.
Afterwards you can hang around in the bars next to the So36: It's located at Oranienstr., one of the hippest streets in Kreuzberg.

Time: every second wednesday a month at 8 pm
So36, Oranienstr. 190
10999 Berlin Kreuzberg

The night flea market in Kreuzberg is indeed one of the best of them all, I used to go there a lot during my Erasmus semester in Berlin. But we can't forget about: Nowkölln or the Arkonaplatz either www.hostelculture.com/.../berlin-flea-markets
